Seahawk Families:
Once again this year we will be using Vikaza.com
to organize our team. We will be posting notices for volunteer
signups, practice schedules, as well as swim meet rosters
etc. One big advantage is that you can check the site for
information and don't have to wait for an email notification.
If we have a home or work email and you don't happen to be
at the site where we sent the message, you could still log
in to the team site and know what's going on.
We'd like to ask you to use the Volunteer Sign-Up option
to sign up for working a position at time trials. If you have
already sent an email to Maureen indicating your preference
for this Saturday, I will add that to the list for you. Please
note that even though the signup says "open to all,"
only certified officials should volunteer for starter, referee,
and stroke&turn.
You should know that our team site is protected, so you must
be invited to sign up. We as the administrators of the site,
will only grant access to our team parents. You are welcome
to sign up using your real name, or any name you choose. But
since we have to grant access, if you use a silly name like
"KK's awesome mom" please send an email with your
real name and the sign-on name you will use on the site so
that we can identify you as being a Seahawk family member
in order to grant you access.
If you had a username last year it is still effective.
You can become a Vikaza member in either of two
ways:
- You can join Vikaza at www.vikaza.com,
register as a user, then request to become a member of the
MSCSeahawks site. Once you create an account, it will send
you an email for confirmation. That sets you as a registered
user. and you can get on Vikaza. Then you need to "find
and join a team" Under find a team, enter "msc
seahawks" and then in city/state either rockville or
potomac, Md. will work. when it finds the Montgomery Square
Seahawks result, you can click on the link and it should
take you to our home page.
- You can send Trish an email (tregan3@mac.com)
that you would like access and include your name, child(rens)
name(s) and your preferred email. We can then "invite"
you to join the team site.
There is one more step because we tightened up security.
When you get to our home page it tells you it's private and
you have to request to join our site. A form is displayed,you
fill it in then it will send us an email that you are requesting
to join. All we have to do is give you rights and then you
get an email confirmation that you are a member.
We added the extra step to make people more comfortable
about using the site. Its a little more onerous, but once
you're on Vikaza is easy to use.
